Painting on site lets us get to know the island in a way most visitors don't achieve.  When we sit to paint, we notice things on a deeper lever, we are influenced by the elements, the sounds, the wildlife.  Sometimes we have to work faster than we would wish to, in order to capture the scene before the light changes.  

Painting en plein air is widely  considered to be the best way to improve your paintings skills.

We will explore watercolour and watersoluble graphite.

Engage in a sketchbook practice while exploring the island encourages keen observation, and focus on capturing the essence of a scene rather than striving for perfection.

Through our sketchbook, participants not only document their experiences but also create lasting memories infused with their own artistic interpretation, fostering a deeper appreciation for the places they have experienced.

We will also paint loose sheet paintings.

Along with the support of a nurturing tutor, painting retreats provided a wonderful opportunity for the group to bond over their shared passion and offer each other support and encouragement.  

Lifelong friendships can be forged.

The first and last dinner are with the full group but for other meals you can chose a venue with a small group, dine alone, or self cater.
